Experience an Al Ain city tour on the excellent "Camel Caravan" tour
Home» Dubai Tours» Camel CaravanFrom its roots as a desert oasis and a stop on the caravan trail, Al Ain has grown into a modern garden city boasting a university amongst other attractions.
From Dubai, you will travel through some spectacular desert scenery, and stopping at the archaeological digs at Hili, which date back some 5000 years, before proceeding to the oasis town of Buraimi in the desert. With a break here to explore the oasis, you can look at the ancient irrigation system and saunter through the tiny souk. After you have lunch (not included), you can pay a visit to Al Ain's museum next to the old fortress, and then stopping by the Al Ain Palace Museum. The palace was the residence of the current ruler of Al Ain - Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan from 1927 until the early 70's. The fortress is divided into two sections: Sheikh Zayed's or the men's section, and Sheikha Fatima's or the women's sections. Both sections consist of a number of majlis, each designed for a different purpose. Some fascinating displays, including a collection of family portraits offer an insight into the way the Royal family lived and entertained. On the return to Dubai, you will make a brief stop at the camel market, where you can see the buying and selling of these enigmatic animals.
